Published in 2017 was Jeffro Johnson’s book Appendix N: The Literary History of Dungeons & Dragons. At the time, Johnson’s Appendix N was the only in-depth exploration of how the works listed in Appendix N related to the development of D&D. Now comes along a book with a suspiciously similar title, Peter Bebergal’s Appendix N: The Eldritch Roots of Dungeons and Dragons.
