The next Renegade Swords IV announcement is one I’m most excited to make: “The Dark Isle” by Robert Bloch!

Bloch, of course, is best known for his horror, particularly Psycho. But, like many Weird Tales contributors, he tried his hand at sword-and-sorcery as well. “The Dark Isle” is the one and only tale of Vincius the Reaper, a Roman soldier who must confront eldritch horrors conjured by the Druids of the British Isles.

“The Dark Isle” has only been reprinted a handful of times since its original publication in Weird Tales in 1939, the last being well over two decades ago. I’ve wanted to reprint this story for years, and I’m thrilled that it will finally happen!
