Following the Centennial Edition of The Ship of Ishtar and last year’s The Dwellers in the Mirage, DMR Books is proud to bring you the next release in our line of Definitive Editions of A. Merritt’s works: The Fox Woman and Other Stories.

Previous editions of this rarely-reprinted volume of Merritt’s short fiction contained only nine stories and fragments. The DMR Books Definitive Edition contains not just a sample but ALL of Merritt’s shorter works, including the original novella versions of “The Moon Pool” (a favorite of H.P. Lovecraft’s) and “The Face in the Abyss,” as well as a selection of his poetry. With 20 vintage illustrations by artists such as Virgil Finlay and Hannes Bok, this collection weighs in at 400 pages—one of the largest releases in DMR history!

The cover was painted by internationally renowned artist Jo Gamel, whose work has been exhibited at such institutions as the Louvre and the European Museum of Modern Art. A writer and musician as well as an artist, her stories have appeared in Swords of Steel IV and Two Tales of Witchery.

The Fox Woman and Other Stories will be released November 2 in trade paperback and digital formats.
