Last year DMR Books produced the Centennial Edition of A. Merritt’s fantasy classic The Ship of Ishtar. This edition included the author’s preferred text, plenty of illustrations, and supplementary material, some of it previously unpublished, making it a dream come true for longtime Merritt fans. Now Merritt’s novel Dwellers in the Mirage will get the same treatment!

For the first appearance of Dwellers in the Mirage, Merritt was required by the publisher to rewrite the ending. Almost every publication of Dwellers since used this ending, which was not the one Merritt always intended. The DMR Books release will include not only Merritt’s preferred ending, but the rewritten one as well for the sake of completeness. Truly, this will be a Definitive Edition!
