The War Ain't Over! DMR Books to Unleash Three New Titles in Early 2024
It’s been relatively quiet recently as far as new releases from DMR Books goes. It’s been three months since the last release, my novel Vran the Chaos-Warped. That may not seem like a long time, but considering I’ve published 40 books in the last 56 months, it’s a bit of a gap. Obviously I wouldn’t be able to maintain that pace forever, and while things are slowing down, by no means is DMR Books going away. To the contrary, three new titles will appear soon, starting with…
The Chronicles of Caylen-Tor Volume III by Byron A. Roberts
From a time-lost age of arcane legendry, the barbaric warrior-king Caylen-Tor rises once more to hack and hew his way to blood-spattered glory! In this, the third pulse-pounding volume of sword & sorcery tales by renowned Bal-Sagoth vocalist/lyricist Byron A. Roberts, the iron-thewed Lord of Wolves voyages across pirate-thronged seas in search of an ancient treasure, leads a warband of ferocious clansmen into battle against malefic sorcery, and ultimately faces his vengeful nemesis in the blighted depths of the netherworld itself!
All hail Caylen-Tor... the mightiest monarch of a savage, antediluvian epoch!
The Chronicles of Caylen-Tor Volume III will be released in February in trade paperback and digital formats. It will be followed by…
Die By the Sword Volume II
Last year, the inaugural edition of DMR Books’ newest sword-and-sorcery anthology series left readers clamoring for more. Their wishes for more tales of sword-wielding heroes, exotic locales, strange creatures, and malefic magic spells will be granted soon, for Die By the Sword Volume II is on its way! DBTS II features twelve stories, some by returning authors from the first volume (such as Adrian Cole, Howie K. Bentley, and Ethan Sabatella) as well as writers who have not appeared in a DMR title before.
Like its predecessor, Die By the Sword Volume II will appear in three formats: hardcover, trade paperback, and digital. It is currently scheduled for a March release, and will be succeeded by…
Dark Dreams of Nilztiria by D.M. Ritzlin
The follow-up to 2020’s Necromancy in Nilztiria, my second short story collection Dark Dreams of Nilztiria contains nine tales set in a mysterious world filled with wonder, horror, and adventure. Many characters from the first book will reappear, such as the cursed swordsman Vran the Chaos-Warped, the devil-may-care barbarian Avok Kur Storn, the legendary magician Xaarxool the Necromancer, and his closest confidant, the triple-eyed severed head Lodianux.
Like Necromancy, the cover of Dark Dreams will feature a cover painting by Brian LeBlanc. It will see an April release in trade paperback and digital formats.
There you have it—three new titles that I predict will become classics (cult or otherwise) among sword-and-sorcery fans. Which of the three are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments!
