Hail, DMR Books fans! I’ve basically been offline for the past week. In the process, I missed the eightieth birthday of the great Walter Simonson on September 2. Oh well, better late than never.

I first discovered the art of Walter "Walt" Simonson at the very beginning of my comic-collecting career. Titles like The Rampaging Hulk and Hercules Unbound rocked my world. Little did I know that I'd just missed Walter's heyday as an illustrator of Sword-and-Sorcery, though he has continued to create such art, along with S&S-adjacent art, in the decades since. He's still out there making great art today and I truly enjoy following his Facebook page.
