Rusty Burke: A Word from the Man Himself

There’ve been some difficulties here on Seven Bridges Road, so I’m definitely late getting this out. However, for the sake of completeness and for those who didn’t see it on Facebook, here is the triumphant update from Bill Cavalier and Rusty himself:

Here's the best Rusty Burke update of all - directly from the old boy himself!

He posted this on Facebook today, so here it is for those of you on FB. And if you're reading this again here, it's the message that is so nice, it needs to be read twice!

Indy Bill Cavalier

"To all my friends, especially those in Cross Plains, thank you so much for your letters of support and encouragement. Your thoughts and prayers worked. I returned home on March 12th and have been doing better. Though, there is still a long way to go. I can't see well enough to write or type a note so my young friend is typing this for me.

Shelly has been preserving all of your cards and letters for me to write you all back when I am able. My brother Michael came up from Tennessee to help watch over me. The two of them have been taking very good care of me.

I'm relearning how to walk and currently using a walker. I hope to be walking when I come to Cross Plains in June. In the meantime, I've been enjoying sitting out on the porch when I'm not doing PT or going to doctors' appointments.

Also, Shelly and I were touched to see the ad in the Cross Plains Review this week. Thank you and I love you all." — Rusty Burke

I’d say that should wrap things up for now and, hopefully, for good long while. Rusty spooked us here in the REH community pretty good, but he fought his way back from the grave. My thanks to all of you who followed and/or commented on these update posts.
