Harold Lamb -- Sixty Years Gone

Harold Lamb passed on sixty years ago today. My time is very short tonight, but I feel that respects must be paid.

I wrote a couple of reviews of the Bison Books Lamb collections for The Cimmerian back in the day. I think they still hold up. I know Howard Andrew Jones was pleased with them and that means a lot.

My review of Swords from the West is here.

My review of Swords from the Desert is here.

My entry on Lamb for my ‘Forefathers of Sword-and-Sorcery’ series can be found here.

Here we are, sixty years after Harold was laid in his grave. S&S authors like David Drake, Howard Andrew Jones, Scott Oden and S.M. Stirling still sing his praises.

Rest in peace, Mr. Lamb.
