A. Merritt’s amazing and innovative novels such as The Ship of Ishtar, The Moon Pool, and The Dwellers in the Mirage were hailed as masterpieces upon their publication in the early 20th century, and continue to enthrall readers to this day. His shorter works, though comparatively few in number, are no less worthy of attention.

Unlike previous versions of this title, the DMR Books Definitive Edition contains not just a sample but ALL of Merritt’s short fiction, including the original novella versions of “The Moon Pool” (a favorite of H.P. Lovecraft’s) and “The Face in the Abyss,” as well as a selection of his poetry. With 20 vintage illustrations by artists such as Virgil Finlay and Hannes Bok, this collection is a must-have for old and new Merritt fans alike.
