DMR Books is proud to announce the release of the long-awaited novella The Godblade by J. Christopher Tarpey. The Godblade is a continuation of Tarpey’s story “Vengeance of the Insane God,” which appeared in the first DMR Books release Swords of Steel, and was one of the most popular tales in that volume. In The Godblade, the warrior-smith Raenon undergoes a perilous journey in search of the tomb of the god Farick. Only with the physical remains of a dead god can Raenon forge a sword powerful enough to combat the insane entity of chaos, Brakur, and the nefarious cults that would bring the world of Arginor to ruin.

Tarpey is best known as the vocalist for the band Eternal Champion, who in only a few short years have amassed a devoted following among the underground heavy metal scene. Their upcoming album, Ravening Iron, will be released through No Remorse Records on November 20th. The lyrics of many of the songs on Ravening Iron, as well as the cover art, were based on characters from the fantasy world of Arginor. Their stories are fully detailed in The Godblade.

The cover art for The Godblade was painted by the extraordinarily talented Brian LeBlanc. This is LeBlanc’s fourth cover for DMR Books, the other three being Necromancy in Nilztiria by D.M. Ritzlin, The Eye of Sounnu by Schuyler Hernstrom, and the anthology Renegade Swords.

The Godblade will be released on October 5th in trade paperback and digital formats.
